Safe Space among women*

SHEro is a safe space for anyone who identifies as a woman (following: woman*, women*). It aims to promote the knowledge of women* for and by women*, as well as the support amongst women* and to provide a space where they feel safe to talk without taboos and in complete freedom about themes that concern them.

A special emphasis is placed on the strength and resources of women*. Examples of themes will be: sexualities, gender roles in different societies, relationships, bodies, contraception, the strength and resources of women*, etc.

The workshops will be held in Fribourg every second week, starting June 2nd, 2021. A pilot project of 6 months (until December 2021) is in place. It isn’t mandatory to participate in all dates; the group is open and any woman* can join at any time.

There is a possibility to have a free childcare in the next room, for the moms* who cannot organize another solution for their children while they participate.

We can also organize a translator (also a woman*), if a participant doesn’t feel comfortable enough in French, which is the main language of the project. To organize the translator well, we would be happy if the participants could let us know (e-mail address or phone number in the flyer) about 10 days or a week in advance.

Types of workshops will be multiple: sometimes, it will be a free space to talk and for each one to bring in her* own themes, some other times, the coordinators will have prepared specific workshops/games/activities using non-formal education techniques, artistic expression techniques and icebreakers about a specific theme, and for the remaining sessions, they will invite external expert women* to report or teach about a theme.

The participation to the workshops, as well as the childcare service and the translations, are free for the participating women*.
