SUMMARY:Pre-departure training
DESCRIPTION:Take part in the next pre-departure training (3-4 June)!\nWe are happy to have you on board as a participant for our pre-departure training from Saturday\, 3rd of June until Sunday\, 4th of June 2023!\nThis seminar is directed at all volunteers\, incl. workcamp participants\, especially workcamp coordinators and long-term volunteers. \nABOUT THE TRAINING \nWith this pre-departure training at SCI\, we want to distribute volunteers and campcoordinators with an in-depth preparation for their intercultural volunteering experience\, whether it is a workcamp in Switzerland or abroad\, a long-term project or EVS program. \nIn general\, we will provide different energizers and workshops about interculturality\, stereotypes/prejudices\, SCI history\, peacebuilding\, conflict resolution\, power mechanisms\, gender roles\, micro-aggressions\, etc. There will be specific workshops for campcoordinators and long-term volunteers to prepare you for your role\, possible challenges and tasks. \nAs in every SCI seminar or training\, you will also meet nice people and be able to enjoy a big group of passionate volunteers in a real SCI atmosphere\, which is supposed to give you a taste of what you will be promoting afterwards. \nThe working language of the training is English\, so free command of the language is necessary in order for you to benefit most from the content of the training. DESCRIPTION:Lohn. Zeit. Respekt. Seit vielen Jahren gehen die Menschen in der Schweiz für diese Grundbedürfnisse auf die Strasse. 2019 nahmen rund 40’000 Menschen am Frauenstreik teil. Bisher hat sich jedoch nicht viel verändert. Die Frauen* in der Schweiz sind immer noch mit Ungleichstellung und Diskriminierung konfrontiert. Deshalb organisieren auch dieses Jahr zahlreiche Organisationen (u.a. VPOD\, Feministisches Streikkollektiv\, usw.) den feministischen Frauenstreik 2023. \nAuch für den SCI Schweiz sind die Forderungen des Frauenstreiks zentral: Frauen* sind in der Schweiz wie auch global stark benachteiligt\, wenn es um Löhne geht\, um Arbeitsbedingungen und ihre Renten. Frauen leisten 50% mehr unbezahlte Haus- und Familienarbeit als Männer: Sie arbeiten damit gleich viele Stunden wie Männer\, aber haben viel weniger Einkommen. Sie werden oft sexuell belästigt\, diskriminiert aufgrund ihres Geschlechts oder erleben häusliche Gewalt. \nFür eine friedlichere Welt braucht es unbedingt echte Gleichstellung – hier und jetzt! \nDeshalb laden wir dich dazu ein\, mit uns am 14. SUMMARY:Mini-Workcamp with Wendy Welt in Aargauer Jura
DESCRIPTION:If you are free on the weekend of 16-18 June and would like to make a contribution to a local animal and nature project\, then save the date. The project Lebenshof “Wendy Welt” needs hands to collect grass\, re-stack branches and cut hedges\, among many other tasks! Interested? Read below!\n\n\n\n\nTHE PROJECT: The group will work with the local project partner Lebenshof “Wendy‐Welt“. The aim of this project\, who is organizing the mini-workcamp\, is to take in animals that have been abandoned or that people don’t want anymore and offer them a safe space to live. \nThe participants will work in “Wendy-Welt” (Wilerweg 3\, 5317 Hettenschwil). \nTYPE OF WORK: We will be a group of max. 20 volunteers. The group of volunteers will gather up cut grass\, restack piles of branches that have that have slipped in width\, cut the high grass in the hedges with sickles so that the young shrubs have room to grow\, free sand and stone piles from vegetation/overgrowth\, cut out blackthorns and thistles\, check trees to make sure the protection is not too close and otherwise loosen or remove them\, and clear bee flowers of overgrowth\, etc. The work that needs to be done is absolutely manual work\, practically nothing can be done with machines. \nMORE INFORMATION: https://scich.org/participate-in-a-mini-workcamp-with-wendy-welt-in-aargauer-jura-in-june/
