We invite you to participate in the Open Day of the Peace Education Market from 10.00 to 16.30 on Monday 22 April 2024 in Köniz near Bern as part of an international training course organised by SCI Switzerland.
It will be a wonderful opportunity to meet, share, and learn from experts on peace education from Switzerland, Europe, and the Middle East. And you will enjoy a variety of workshops on the topic of peace and peace education that you can take part in.
CONTEXT
The Peace Education Market international training course will bring educators from 13 countries in Europe and the Middle East to learn, discuss, and share, and it will empower its participants to increase the quality and quantity of their peace education activities.
The whole event will last from the 18th until the 24th of April 2024. Within it, there will be one day fully dedicated to networking with Swiss and international NGOs (represented by the participants of the training).

PROGRAM
- 10:00 – Official opening of the Market Day
- 10:10-12:00 – Greet and meet – informal networking with peace education organizations
- 12:30-1:30 – Lunch
- 13:30-15:00 and 15:30-16:20 – Parallel workshops on peace and peace education topics
- 16:20-16:30 – Closing of the market day
PROJECT IN SHORT
With the “Educators for Peace” project, we share our expertise with youth workers, volunteers, and activists, support them in becoming educators and changemakers and gain competences essential for building a peaceful and nonviolent world.
The project lasts through 2023 and 2024 and aims at inspiring and training educators and changemakers who are willing to deliver high-quality educational events for peace and become multipliers and messengers of peace while creating a chain of follow-up actions for promoting and living peace. It consists of several steps:
- International training course “Training of Trainers for Peace” which took place in November 2023 in Switzerland.
- International training course “Peace Education Market” in April 2024 in Köniz near Bern, Switzerland.
- Local actions for peace organised by the training participants (December 2023-September 2024).
