“Peace for Change, Change for Peace”, a new project at SCI Switzerland

14th February 2022

The goal is to build the capacity of youth workers from different countries to gain competences essential for building a nonviolent world. Peace for Change!

“Peace for Change, Change for Peace” is a project that we are excited to implement in SCI Switzerland in 2022!

Our initiative connects the idea of peace to the daily actions of young people across Europe and the Middle East, and empowers them to act for peace in everyday life.

The project goal is to build the capacity of around 60 youth workers and volunteers from 14 European and Middle East countries to gain competences essential for building a peaceful and nonviolent world.

We want to support our project participants in becoming active citizens and peace envoys!

To reach that goal, two training courses will take place in Switzerland, with 32 participants each:

  • “Inner Peace and Peace with Nature” (13-19 October 2022)

It will be an opportunity to meet, learn, share and exchange on how to work on the above themes!

The empowered participants will start implementing local and international actions about and for peace, conflict transformation, and nonviolence.

One of the tangible outcomes of the project will be “My Peace Journal”, a personal diary providing space for reflection, encouraging thinking about peace and acting for peace, available both printed and in an electronic form. We are in the process of developing the product and will share it once ready on our project page.

The project builds on the successful experience of our “Peace in Practice” project.

We believe that the project “Peace for Change, Change for Peace!” will be a step in contributing to a world, where conflicts can be resolved peacefully.

Stay tuned for more news!
