We are looking for 2 international volunteers (Europe and partner countries*) between 18 and 30 years old, for a stay of 6 months.
Are you interested in permaculture? Are you interested in growing food and creating communities while minimising environmental impact? Center of Unity Schweibenalp is looking for two volunteers as part of the European Voluntary Service (EVS) project. The EVS Project would last for 6 months, from 15 April to 15 October.
ABOUT THE EVS PROJECT
The European Voluntary Service (EVS) programme was created in order to promote solidarity and a sense of community among younger people within Europe (and other partner Countries*). With this project, participants get to volunteer for many different organisations with various cultural and social aims. This is a great opportunity to learn new skills and develop their competences, it is not merely an internship experience, as it allows space for self-discovery and the development of personal projects.
EVS is financed by Movetia, the Swiss national Agency and therefore completely free for all participants. It includes travel expenses, food and accomodation, a language course and pocket money. Movetia promotes exchange, mobility and cooperation within the fields of education, training and youth work – in Switzerland, Europe and worldwide.
*Partner Countries: Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Lybia, Marocco, Moldova, Montenegro, Palestine, Russia, Syria, Tunisia, Ukraine.
ABOUT CENTER OF UNITY SCHWEIBENALP
In the midst of the Bernese Oberland Alps, on a high plateau at 1100m above sea level with a view of turquoise Lake Brienz, lies the Centre of Unity Schweibenalp. As a living and working community, we run the seminar farm and the alpine permaculture gardens (4 ha). As part of the Global Ecovillages Network (GEN), we see ourselves as one of the emerging models for holistic cultural change. At the Center of Unity Schweibenalp we have been contributing to the development of an integral culture of life and universal spirituality for more than 30 years.
We offer you the opportunity to work with us and experience community life, community building, living consciously with each other and with nature, and running a seminar business together. The aim of volunteering is to promote personal and spiritual development, to provide an intercultural experience in community life, to gain knowledge and practical experience about permaculture and sustainable living, and to be a positive inspiration on how to live now on our planet Earth. We live and work together on Schweibenalp and share the place with our many seminar guests and other volunteers.
