Seminars & Workshops

During our pre-departure training you will learn more about our volunteer engagement, the volunteer camps and long-term projects. Moreover, you will also get to know our values ​​and goals.  We deal with challenges in international volunteer camps or long-term projects and will offer you various workshops on topics such as interculturality, SCI history, conflict resolution, non-violent communication, group dynamics, cultural prejudices/stereotypes, Global Justice, racism, post-colonialism, gender and safe spaces and much more.

In addition, volunteers will report on their experience in a volunteer engagement, and will give you valuable tips.

Participation in the pre-departure training is compulsory for:

• Minors who participate in a volunteer camp
• Participants of Long-Term-Volunteering
• Participants of projects in the gloubal south

The pre-departure training is offered twice a year: once in spring and once in autumn. Please let us know if you are intereseted in Long-Term-Volunteering to ensure that in case you are unable to attend a pre-departure training an alternative will be found.

The pre-departure training is open to anyone interested – even if you do not plan to volunteer with us. Once you have attended the seminar it is considered as completed and you can participate in all SCI Switzerland projects.

The next preparatory seminar will take place on the following date: Sunday, May 17, 2026 and is free of charge for camp coordinators.
